Originally I am from New Hampshire but currently live in the Boston area.
I have been making cabinet stews since grade school. Raiding my mother’s kitchen for anything that would make a quick after-school snack. My old standby was French’s brand yellow mustard spread thinly on Saltines! In high school, things got a little more sophisticated – and making dinner most nights to help out my working parents got me started down the path of culinary creativity. By college I was doctoring up Ramen noodles like nobody’s business! The in-room microwave was a new delight for me! After graduation I realized my full potential and started cooking grown up things like roasted chicken, scratch macaroni and cheese, steak on a little grill.
As a wife and mother of 2 (cats that is!) I spend a lot more time meal-planning and integrating the household likes (mine) and dislikes (his).
I began posting cabinet stew (see “hello world” post for explanation) because I am always whipping up something new!

Hi, nice to meet you !
Welcome!!
Hi Carol,
I sat across from Mike and your Dad on AA flight 25 from Boston to
Los Angeles, yesterday.
Your husband is an amazing guy, he told me about your blog, I visited
and talked with your Dad quite a bit, he was in good shape the entire
flight. Mike told me about your blog, his making lamb shanks and then
the bruchetta.
All the best. I look forward to reading your fathers recounting of his
experience as part of the first wave on Omaha Beach.

Glad you like Cabinet Stew!
Michael told me that you were on the flight. It is truly amazing how life puts just the right people together at just the right time. You made his flight on this very special trip, much more enjoyable.
Thank You!
Carol
